Dear Parents,

Welcome! Where has the summer gone? I can hardly believe that the start of school is just around the corner. The office has been open and hard at work throughout the summer. I hope you and your children had a relaxing summer and are gearing up to begin an outstanding 2017-18 school year at St. Vincent’s.

There are many new resources that will be available to our students. We will have a new computer center classroom that is being built off the Parish Hall and we will have a full-time technology teacher. The technology center will be open T-Th until 4:30pm for our grades 3-8 students and parishioners to use. Our new counselor will be on campus and available five days a week. We have the Accellus Program and 30 tablets which we will use for remediation and enrichment for individual students.

The New Student Assessment will be given on two days, from 10-11:30 am. It will be given on Friday, August 4, 2017 and Saturday, August 5, 2017. Every new student is required to call the school office and register for one of the days to take the assessment. The school phone number is 251-666-8022.

The New Parent Orientation will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 beginning at 6:15pm. Letters have already gone out to our 30, at this time, new families.

You may bring your child’s school supplies and textbooks on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 2-6pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms to assist you. If you need to enroll your child in Before or After School Care there will be someone here to help you register.

Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 6pm will begin our Back-to-School bonfire and movie. Please join us for this fun activity.

Our first day of school will be Monday, August 21, 2017. This will be a half day with dismissal at 12:00pm. Lunch will be served to all students. We always serve lunch on half day school days.

Our school Masses are held on Fridays at 8:30am. Each week the 3rd – 8th grade classes take turns as readers for the School Mass.

The first PTO Meeting and School Open House will be on September 6, 2017 at 6:30 pm. PTO Meetings are held every other month. The meetings are posted on the calendar which can be found on our web site at

I would like to remind everyone of the traffic patterns on campus. The maximum speed is 15 mph. All drivers dropping off or picking up should get in the correct traffic lane.

The students in grades 3-8 should be dropped off and picked up in front of the school office. You may enter that drop off lane by turning off Three Knotch Rd onto Camelot Drive. Then turn left onto St. Vincent Drive. Proceed to the front of the school office to drop off or pick up. If a student is grades 3-8 has a younger sibling in grades PK3-2, the older students will go to the cafeteria door to pick up the sibling and take the sibling to the area in from of the front door.

The students in grades PK3-2 should be picked up and dropped off in front of the cafeteria doors. You will enter off Three Knotch Rd. onto St. Vincent Dr. You will turn right and drive behind the church.

School doors open at 7:20am and teachers are on morning duty from 7:20am until 7:45am to assist the students. Parents should take their child out of the child seat in the morning and strap their child into the car seat in the afternoon, this is not something a teacher is allowed to do.

Teachers are not on duty after 7:45am, we are all in the Parish Hall for Morning Devotional. Arriving after 7:45am for drop off requires that you come into the school office with your child because your child is tardy. You will be asked to sign a tardy form and state the reason for the tardy. Please read the Student / Parent Handbook posted on the school web site for details of the school’s tardy policy.

All students should be picked up by 3:15pm, unless they are staying to work in the computer lab. Remember only grades 3-8 may work late in the computer lab. Students not picked up and not working in the computer lab will be placed in After School Care and the parent will be responsible for the day care charge.

All information regarding the school uniforms can be found in the Student / Parent Handbook posted on the school web site. Please take the time to read this as there are changes for the Middle School Uniforms. Students in middle school, grades 6-8, will dress out for PE.

You may find the supply list and summer reading assignment on the school web site. Go to Student Life and then select Academics.

All fees and tuition payments must be current before a student will be permitted in to begin school on August 21. As always, should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the school office at 251-666-8022.
